CCR&R of Swainsboro Tech to Offer Child Abuse and Positive Guidance Workshops 

Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Agency of East Central Georgia of Swainsboro Technical College will offer a Child Abuse Awareness class from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and a Positive Guidance class from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, at the Department of Family and Children Services located at 1160 West Parker Street in Baxley.

 

The Child Abuse Awareness workshop will cover Georgia law, state rules and regulations, reporting procedures, sign and symptoms of physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect.  There will also be a discussion on how to meet the needs of suspected abused children and communication with parents and staff.

 

The Positive Guidance workshop will cover areas such as these: communicating with children; dealing with difficult children; promoting positive behavior; and improving understanding while learning to effectively deal with children. 

The registration fee is $5.00 for each class, and pre-registration is required by July 24. Child care is not provided, and participants will receive two state-accepted hours per class.
