CCR&R of Swainsboro Tech to Offer Child Abuse and Positive Guidance Workshops
Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Agency of East Central Georgia of Swainsboro Technical College will offer a Child Abuse Awareness class from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and a Positive Guidance class from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, at Swainsboro Technical College; Building 3, located at 346 Kite Road in Swainsboro.
The Child Abuse Awareness workshop will cover Georgia law, state rules and regulations, reporting procedures, sign and symptoms of physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect. There will also be a discussion on how to meet the needs of suspected abused children and communication with parents and staff.
The Positive Guidance workshop will cover areas such as these: communicating with children; dealing with difficult children; promoting positive behavior; and improving understanding while learning to effectively deal with children.
The registration fee is $5.00 for each class, and pre-registration is required by July 16. Child care is not provided, and participants will receive two state-accepted hours per class.

Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Agency of East Central Georgia at Swainsboro Technical College in conjunction with Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning will offer a free Registration Orientation Meeting (ROM) for people interested in becoming a registered family child care provider.
It will be held on Tuesday, July 22, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Laurens County Public Library in the Auditorium located at 801 Bellevue Avenue in Dublin. Participants will receive information about the registration application process as well as the State of Georgia rules and regulations for family child care.
If you enjoy working with children on a daily basis and understand the importance of early care and learning, then a career in child care may be for you. Swainsboro Tech CCR&R Offers Health and Safety Workshop for Child Care Providers
Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Agency of East Central Georgia at Swainsboro Technical College is offering a Health and Safety workshop on July 24 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Community Center located at 420 Peacock Street in Cochran.
The workshop will focus on the regulation requirements for health and safety issues in child care environments. Participants will receive two State-accepted hours.
