CCR&R Offers Nutrition Workshop to Child Care Providers Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Agency of East Central Georgia of Swainsboro Technical College is offering a Nutrition workshop for child care providers on Saturday, October 27, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Community Center on located at 203 West Forest Avenue in Alamo. Participants will receive instruction on how to prepare balanced nutritional meals and the proper procedures for handling food during process. Pre-registration is required by October 24, and there is a $5.00 registration fee. Participants will receive two State-accepted credit hours. Information will be provided on the symptoms of contagious diseases, illness policies, exclusion policies, medication, cleaning and disinfecting, and universal precautions. Child Care Resource and Referral of Swainsboro Tech to Offer CPR/First Aid/Fire Safety Workshop The Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Agency of East Central Georgia of Swainsboro Technical College will conduct classes in CPR/First Aid and Fire Safety at the Swainsboro Technical College main campus on Saturday, November 10, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. These classes are for child care providers and/or anyone interested in attending. The cost is $40 per participant for CPR/First Aid class and $25.00 per participant for the Fire Safety class. Pre-registration is required by November 6. Childcare will not be provided. There will also be a discussion on how to meet the needs of suspected abused children and communication with parents and staff. CCR&R Services of Swainsboro Tech to Offer Curriculum Workshop Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Agency of East Central Georgia of Swainsboro Technical College will conduct a Curriculum Workshop on Thursday, November 15, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The training will be held at the Georgia Aviation Technical College located at 71 Airport Road in Eastman. Information will be provided on planning a scaffolding lesson plan based on developmentally appropriate practices for any home-based or center based environment for children ages 3 months through 13 years. This two-hour session also covers information on using assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of the plans and activities. Regulated and unregulated day care providers will receive two State-accepted credit hours for attending this workshop. There is a $5.00 fee. Pre-registration is required by November 12, and child care will not be provided.
