 CCR&R Services of Swainsboro Tech to Offer Infectious Childhood Diseases Workshop

Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Agency of East Central Georgia of Swainsboro Technical College will conduct an Infectious Childhood Diseases workshop at the Georgia Aviation Technical College on 71 Airport Road in Eastman on June 19 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Information will be provided on the symptoms of contagious diseases, illness policies, exclusion policies, medication, cleaning and disinfecting, and universal precautions. Regulated and unregulated day care providers will receive two State-accepted credit hours for this workshop.

The fee for this workshop is $5.00, and pre-registration is required by June 14. Child care will not be provided.

CCR&R Holds Community Baby Shower

in Wayne County

Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) of East Central Georgia at Swainsboro Technical College held a "CCR&R Community Baby Shower" for new and expectant parents on May 24 in Wayne County at the Recreation Department in Jesup.

Participants received goody bags from CCR&R containing an assortment of resources and materials on parenting issues. Educational information and freebies were also given to those in attendance from the variety of booths at this event. Also, participants were entered into drawings for door prizes that were given away throughout the event. "This CCR&R Community Baby Shower was designed to inform parents of the variety of resources available to them as well as to increase awareness of the free child care referral service and parenting workshops offered by CCR&R," says Parent Coordinator, Sherry Rowland. Parents attending this special event enjoyed refreshments and took away knowledge of their community at the end of the day. The following agencies responded to the invitation to set up booths and to have information available to parents: Wayne County Memorial Hospital, Georgia Department of Labor, Best Babies/Wayne County Health Department, Georgia Families, Right from the Start Medicaid, Care Net, GA Fatherhood Program, Well Care Georgia, Wayne County Obstetrics & Gynecology, and March of Dimes. Angela Hines, CCR&R Director, stated "This event will help new and expectant parents have access to community resources and be more aware of the services available to them."

CCR&R would like to thank the Cracker Williams Community Center for donating the space for this event. CCR&R of Swainsboro Tech Offers Free Training on Temperament Traits for Toddlers

Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Agency of East Central Georgia of Swainsboro Technical College will offer Temperament Traits of Toddlers training to providers and parents on June 23 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The training will be held at the Ogeechee Technical College Learning Center on 107 North Duval Street in Claxton.

This workshop will discuss what temperament traits toddlers have and the effects on themselves as well as others around them. This fee for this workshop in $5.00, and pre-registration is required by June 20. .

Childcare is not provided. The classes are being offered to regulated and unregulated childcare providers and participants will receive 2 State-accepted credits.
